(B.Sc. Animation & Multimedia Programme)

Q1. Would you please tell me about the Course?
Ans. B.Sc. (Hons.)  Animation & Multimedia programme is a four-year (eight semesters) degree course currently offered only at the BIT Jaipur and BIT Noida Campuses. This is a modular programme with exit possibility after three years (six semesters). If a student exits after completion of six semesters’ he/she will be awarded a Degree of B.Sc. Animation & Multimedia, and on successful completion of eight semesters he/she will be awarded a Degree of B.Sc. (Hons.)Animation & Multimedia.

In this Programme we are teaching the whole animation film making process which contains subjects related to Drawing, Creativity, Pre-Production, Production, and Post-Production process in all the mediums -2D Classical Animation (Hand Drawn), 2D Digital Animation, 3D Character Animation & Modeling (3D Max & Maya software's on computer)  & Multimedia (Software's related to Graphics & Special Effects, Composting & Sound Editing-like Photoshop, Premier, After effects, Corel Draw etc.)

Q2. Would you please tell me about the Creative Aptitude Test & Interview for B.Sc.    
       Animation & Multimedia Program?
Ans. The aptitude test and interview for B.Sc. Animation & Multimedia Programme 2014 will be held at Birla Institute of Technology, Jaipur Campus on 02nd July, 2014. Students’ must report at 10 a.m. at BIT Jaipur Campus. Answer sheets will be provided to the students. Students will have to carry their own pencil /colors pencils/ crayons with them. The questions will test the drawing skills, creative abilities and writing skills of the students. The interview will be held immediately after the aptitude test. The students are recommended to bring their portfolio (sketches & drawings) if they have it at the time of the interview.

Q3. Would you please tell me about the Selection Procedure for this programme?

Ans. Based on the data provided in the application forms, the list of eligible candidates will be notified on our website and updated when required.  Candidates will be shortlisted for Aptitude Test and Interview on the basis of their Marks in Class 12, and fulfill the eligibility criteria mentioned in the information brochure. Selection will be based on marks obtained in the required subject in 12/QE and performance   in Creativity Aptitude Test & Interview.

(Weightage of marks considered in merit list is 50%+40%+10%) respectively.

  
Q4. What are the important dates for applying this programme?

Q5. Is Creativity really required for the course?
Ans. Yes, Creativity is the base and backbone of Animation & Multimedia. A person in this field should have exceptional Creativity skills and sense, because if you are not able to visualize, you will not be able to implement your thoughts in your work.

Q6. What kind of test do you take for admission?
Ans.  There will be an aptitude test for 1 hour to judge the sense and creativity of the applicant followed by an interview and discussion. Sample paper for the same is attached at the end of this Questionnaire.

Q7. What will be the topic for test?
Ans.  You might be required to draw a detail sketch of a character in any action or might be asked to draw a cartoon character or you might be asked to draw some comic panels for which the situation will be given on the spot.

Q8. What kind of preparation we can do for the test?
Ans. Start doing sketching (Cartoon Characters, Object Drawing, Human & Animals Sketching from your surroundings), prepare your portfolio and bring it for the interview.

Q9. Is it a degree course and what will be the placement opportunities?
Ans. You will get a degree after once you pass out from here. We will be assisting you to appear for the job test in different studios (Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Delhi, Pune etc.)

Q10. What will be the general Salary Category?
Ans. Salary depends upon the quality of your work, portfolio and how well you do the job test.

Q11. What will be the timings for the classes?
Ans. It will be from 8.30 A.M to 3.00 P.M regularly.
